Viacom Outdoor has announced that is creating a new department dedicated to its moving image innovation, XTP, on the London Underground.

The move, which comes into effect immediately, supports Viacom Outdoor's predictions that moving image technology will be one of the key revenue streams for the company's growth over the next twelve months. The moving image project is currently undergoing testing and the first screens will appear at Euston from November.

The new department will be headed up by current national sales director, Alison Reay, who moves up to become business development director. Reay will be responsible for generating the £10m revenues expected from the project in its first year.

The newly created role of group sales director will be filled by Andy Moug, who will be responsible for all sales across Viacom Outdoor's portfolio of bus underground, inter-urban coaches and trams, he will also be expected to bring more cohesion to national and regional sales.

Laura Doughty is promoted to deputy sales director, supporting Moug on national sales. Doughty currently runs half the national sales team and this move will expand her role significantly.

Joint managing director of Viacom Outdoor, Clive Punter, said: "With these appointments we are placing strong and experienced managers in key positions and developing strategically important revenue streams within our media. The changes not only recognise the contribution by these individuals to our business but it also creates the strongest senior management team we've ever had. Much has been said about XTP. The gestation period is almost over and I am pleased that we now have a dedicated team to deliver what will be one of the most exciting new product developments in Outdoor in the last five years."

The company's three year business plan sees similar revenue potential from its special projects team Impact, which creates bespoke and innovative campaigns for advertisers on London Underground. Nicky Cheshire moves from national sales to take charge of the division as sales director.

Doughty, Cheshire and regional sales directors, Maria Clark and Jason Cotterell, will all report to Moug, as group sales director.

Viacom Outdoor rebranded from TDI in June (see TDI To Re-brand As Viacom Outdoor).
