The Nationwide Football League has, as expected, rejected the revised offer from ITV Digital for media rights to the games of its 72 member clubs. The new offer, made because of the digital platform's increasing financial difficulties, was thought to be considerably lower than the price originally agreed. If the League had accepted it could have meant financial difficulty for many of the clubs who were counting on receiving the original amount.
ITV Digital has yet to release a reaction to the rejection, which industry speculation has suggested could mean the end for the business (see Football League Rejection Could Close ITV Digital).
