Stadia, the new national ad contractor set up to target sports fans at stadiums across the country, has secured mobile phone operator O2 as its first advertiser.
12,500 ads for the group were placed on the back of seats at Arsenal's Highbury stadium for their match against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday 16 November.
The seat ads were supported by a competition which encouraged consumers to vote for the man of the match to win a signed shirt. There were also inserts in the seat backs to promote 02's mobile service in conjunction with Arsenal football club.
The campaign was planned and bought by Zenith Media UK with Outdoor Connection and the creative was by VCCP.
Stadia, which launched earlier this year, has spent the last 18-months researching the effectiveness of seat-back advertising and claims that the medium generates 94% brand recall (see Stadia Targets Sports Fans With Seat-Back Ads).
