RAJAR figures for Q1 2010 reveal that All Commercial radio increased its weekly reach in Q1, while BBC Radio 2's breakfast show increased its lead as the nation's favourite way to start the morning.

Host Chris Evans has presented the show - which has added 30 minutes to its running time - since taking over from the mighty Terry Wogan in January.

And Johnny Vaughan's 95.8 Capital Radio breakfast show remains well out in front of its rival London stations in the mornings, despite posting a 5.6% period on period decline in Q1 2010.

All Commercial radio now has a weekly reach of around 32.2 million listeners, up 2.1% year on year. The BBC also had a good first quarter with All BBC's weekly reach up 3.2% year on year to around 35 million listeners.

Looking at the national stations, BBC Radio 2 has the highest weekly reach, up 8.3% year on year to more than 14.5 million listeners. The best BBC performers were BBC 6 Music and 1Xtra, no doubt boosted by the outpourings of sympathy following the announcement that the stations would be cut as part of the BBC's strategic review.

BBC 6 Music saw its weekly reach rise by 47.2% period on period, while 1Xtra posted a 24.9% period on period rise.

In London, Magic 105.4 recorded the largest weekly reach, with a 10.1% period on period increase and its share of listening was up too, by 0.2 percentage points year on year.

It was also pretty good period for 95.8 Capital Radio, which saw its reach grow by around 2% year on year and 4% period on period.

But how are people listening to their favourite stations? Well, according to RAJAR, DAB set ownership increased 9% year on year, with 17.7 million adults aged 15+ now claiming to live in a DAB household.

And DAB now has a 15.1% share of all radio listening, up 20% year on year.
