RAJAR's Q4 2011 release was positive for Global Radio's Capital brand, as well as Bauer's Kiss and Magic.

However, All Radio saw its reach slip below the 47 million mark for the first time in 2011. After hitting 47 million listeners for the first time in the first three months of the year, All Radio's figures peaked in Q2 at 47.6 million. However, a -1.0% drop in Q4 saw the number fall to 46.7 million listeners.

All Commercial also suffered a set-back in the last three months of 2011, with its reach falling -2.7% quarter on quarter to 32.8 million listeners. All Commercial Radio now has a 42.4% share compared to the BBC's 55.5% share.

In the national market, Total Global Radio continues to lead the nationals and networks, though its reach has fallen just below the 20 million mark. Bauer Radio's Total Portfolio posted a 0.5% year on year rise, while Total GMG Radio enjoyed a 7.2% year on year increase.

BBC Radio 2 is a non-mover at the top of the breakfast show chart - though its stablemate Radio 4 has reason to celebrate following quarterly and yearly increases. However, BBC Radio FIVE LIVE took a real hit in the three months (down -20.6% year on year).

In London, Capital London's Johnny Vaughan and Lisa Snowdon topped the breakfast chart once again, despite Vaughan's departure from the show in mid-November. The number one presenting spot has now been taken over by Dave Berry. Bauer's Magic 105.4 and Kiss 100 FM also had a bumper few months, pushing them up into second and third place ahead of Global's Heart 106.2 FM.

Capital London has also retained its number one spot in London after a healthy gain. Heart and Magic swapped places in second and third position yet again. Kiss 100 FM and the Absolute brands also recorded impressive rises in the capital during Q4 2011.

And lastly, Digital radio put in a strong performance once again - with listening via a digital platform up 10% year on year and average hours up 15%. Meanwhile, listening to digital radio via other platforms such as mobile phones and the internet continues to grow in popularity.
