Apple is expected to release an iPad Mini in October. The device, which would compete with the Google Nexus and Kindle Fire, is likely to priced at £199.

The iPad Mini and the iPhone 5 are both expected to be announced on or around 12 September. Reports suggest that the miniature iPad will go into general distribution from day one, rather than be sold exclusively through Apple stores.

Sources claim that Apple will ship six million units of the iPad Mini in the third quarter - between July and September.
