YouTube to launch film rentals on connected TVs

YouTube is set to launch on-demand film rentals on TVs and connected devices later this year.

The video service plans to add a premium component to its TV application on a number of Smart TV platforms in selected European countries later this year.

The Philips Smart TV will be among the first TV platforms to offer the service.
