Clear Channel UK appoints new CEO

Clear Channel UK has appointed Matthew Dearden as its new chief executive officer.

Dearden, who also joins Clear Channel International's executive committee, joins from BT, where he is currently consumer marketing director and previously held the position of chief executive of BT Directories.

Before joining BT he worked in brand management at Procter & Gamble and as a marketing and P&L owner at Telewest.

William Eccleshare, president and CEO of Clear Channel International, said: "Matthew has outstanding experience as a marketer and as a business leader. Our UK business has had an excellent first half year and the current team continue to do a great job.

"Rob Atkinson will continue as managing director and under Matthew's energetic and intelligent leadership I'm confident we will take Clear Channel UK to new heights."

Dearden said: "Out of home advertising is an integral part of the brand conversation and Clear Channel has been instrumental in showcasing powerful and effective campaigns across the UK.

"I am very much looking forward to working with the UK and International teams to build on its strong performance this year and further develop and invest in the business."
