ABC Consumer Jul-Dec 2009: Computing & Gaming

The latest ABC figures, for Jul-Dec 2009, show that the two titles in the computer sector, both from Future Publishing, were down year on year.

Windows - The Official Magazine fell 11.8% to under 20,000 copies, while MacFormat was down 7.5% to around 27,000 copies.

In the gaming sector, just four titles managed to record year on year circulation growth, although the title with the largest circulation figure, Imagine Publishing's 360, was up an impressive 9.1% year on year, to around 14,000 copies.

Uncooked Media's 360 Gamer enjoyed a 2.5% year on year rise to almost 19,000 copies, while a slight increase of 0.4% took Future Publishing's Edge to around 29,000 copies.

The only other title in our round-up to see year on year growth was another title covering Microsoft's Xbox, X360. Its circulation grew almost 2% year on year, to 26,500 copies.

Elsewhere, there were some large year on year falls, with GamesMaster's total down by around 16% to 34,000 copies, N Gamer down by almost 30% to 12,500, and PSM3 falling 19% to just over 21,000 copies.

June was a pretty poor month for the daily national newspaper market according to the latest ABC figures, as it recorded an overall decline of 6.5% year on year.
The daily national newspaper market was down by 5.6% year on year, but managed a slight 0.2% period on period increase in May.
