Southern Newspapers has acquired seven titles from Star Newspapers, a subsidiary of Duncan Holdings.
The publications are:
* The West Dorset Star
* The Somerset Star
* The Taunton Star
* The Bridgwater Star
* The Mid-Devon Star
* The Taunton Deane Property Scene
* Admart(paid for)
The newspapers, with a combined circulation of 180,000 will come under the control of the company’s Western Region, which publishes the Dorset Evening Echo and eight weeklies.
Centaur has moved into computer publishing with the acquisition of Process Communications. The deal will mean that Centaur has three magazines aimed at IT professionals; .EXE, a software development monthly, Software Management, a monthly, and Basics, a quarterly. Centaur are the publishers of business titles such as Marketing Week.
