Emap has acquired magazines in two areas, meat trades titles and construction. Emap has bought Foodshop, Scottish Butcher and What Machine from Tony Pike’s Smithfield Publishing for an undisclosed sum.
Emap have also acquired Construction News from the Thomson Corporation for a cash consideration of £7.6m. Construction News has a paid-for circulation of 30,000 and in 1994, had a turnover of £4.0m.
