The Disney Channel UK is to launch on 1st October, broadcasting daily from 6am to 10pm on the Sky Movies Gold channel 26 (Astra 1B).
The Disney Channel UK is a subscription only channel and will not carry advertising. It will be available to Sky satellite and cable dual movie subscribers throughout the UK and Ireland.
The Disney Channel will deliver family entertainment, with programming aimed at all members of the family. The programming schedule is to include dramas, comedies, cartoons, documentaries and feature films from the Disney archives, including the premiers of Jungle Book and Cool Runnings.
The Channel’s UK advertising agency is Mellors Reay & Partners, while media is being handled by BBJ Media Services Ltd.
