The Business Reports 50% Sales Increase

Relaunched financial paper The Business, which reappeared as a Sunday/Monday title after its previous incarnation, the Sunday Business had to sign a refinancing agreement and close over Christmas (see Sunday Business Set For Relaunch), is reporting a successful first week of sales.

Estimates by the paper, which now costs 50p, are that street sales for last week’s edition were up 57% on December’s and that export sales have also increased. Managing director Paul Wolfenden pointed out that while the official picture will not be available until the monthly ABC figures come out, that these additional sales were not due to bulk or airline sales. He credited both the media push, including TV advertising and the work done to the title for the increase.

“We’ve had a lot of accolades from industry.” he said, “But more importantly, readers are telling us they like what we do.”
