InStyle Moves To IPC Southbank

IPC has confirmed that the year-old InStyle magazine is to move to the IPC Southbank stable. The title has been published from launch by Time Life Entertainment, but became legally part of IPC after AOL Time Warner took the company over last year (see AOL Buys IPC Media For £1.15bn).

The AOL/Time Warner takeover also meant that the Wallpaper group became part of IPC, but this is to remain a stand-alone operation, although Wallpaper* creator Tyler Brulee is to report to IPC Ignite! MD Mike Soutar. InStyle’s editor and publisher will report to IPC Southbank’s managing director Tim Brooks.

InStyle was included in the ABC figures released last Thursday (see ABC: Men’s Market Totters; CosmoGirl! Makes 170,000 Debut) for the first time, and entered the top twenty monthly women’s titles by circulation with 151,159. However, it remains some way behind the market leaders (see graph below) including Condé Nast’s Glamour which launched around the same time, early last year.
