Chrysalis Brings Tetley To Heart Listeners

Chrysalis Radio has signed a six-figure, three-month advertising deal with Tetley, which is to become the first brand to sponsor breakfast shows on London's Heart 106.2 and 100.7 Heart FM in the Midlands.

The deal, which begins on 24 April, will see Tetley Tea trails and credits run during the Jono And The Morning Crew show on Heart 106.2 and throughout the Ed James At Breakfast show on 100.7 Heart FM.

The partnership, which was developed by MediaVest, is designed to promote the health benefits of tea and will begin with a week-long on air promotion featuring a daily competition.

Chrysalis Radio's sponsorship and promotions director, Richard Brinkman, said: "We are delighted that Tetley has committed at a time when long-term investments are particularly scarce, reflecting positively the unique qualities that the Heart breakfast shows embody in their market."

Chrysalis Radio recently announced that advertising revenue at the company fell by 11.8% between September and December 2001 (see Chrysalis Radio Revenues Turn Positive). However, the last RAJAR results show that total Heart FM, which includes Heart 106.2 and 100.7 Heart FM, saw its weekly reach increase by 13.7% to 2,647,000 during the same three-month period (see NewsLine).
