Content Deal Brings Emap Radio Brands To Students

Emap Performance has signed a commercial content deal with Campus Media that will see some of its key radio brands broadcast across the SBN student network.

From 1 September, Friday Night Kiss, The Smash Hits Chart Show and the Kerrang Show will be available to students across 49 UK student radio services. Friday Night Kiss will be broadcast every Friday evening, with The Smash Hits Chart Show and the Kerrang Show airing at the weekend.

The programmes will benefit from promotion across other Emap platforms including TV, magazines, online and live events and Emap expect the cross-media opportunities to generate additional incremental revenue.

Director of development for Emap Performance, Shaun Gregory, said: “More than half a million students a week tune into the SBN network, so this content deal will give advertisers a fantastic opportunity to get to the heart of the valuable student 15-24 audience.”

Emap Advertising’s broadcast sales director, Tim Bleakley, added: “It’s an opportunity for national brands looking to tap into early-adopting opinion-forming intelligent young adults.”

Earlier in the month Emap announced that it had secured Natwest as the first brand to use its recently launched Broadcast Innovation Department, which offers advertisers bespoke solutions combining Emap’s radio and TV brands (see Natwest Trials New Emap Ad Division).
