ITV2 To Show Virgin-Sponsored Music Festival

ITV2 has signed a deal with Fuji International productions and Wembley TV to screen the V2002 music festival. Coverage of the two day event, which takes place on 17 and 18 August, will be sponsored by Virgin Mobile, which is also sponsoring the festival itself.

Daniela Neumann, ITV2’s head of programmes, said: “V2002 is one of the most exciting music festivals of the year, which is why we’re dedicating 10 hours of coverage to it. It’s perfect for ITV2’s target 16-34 year old audience, and to have secured Virgin Mobile as broadcast sponsors is a great bonus to our scooping the UK rights to the event.”

Rival digital entertainment channel E4 is currently being boosted in its share of non-terrestrial viewing by coverage of the 16-34 year old-friendly Big Brother (see Big Brother Audiences Continue Growth).
