IPC Announces First Major Content Deal With AOL UK

IPC Media has announced details of its first major content deal with its online stablemate AOL UK.

The deal will see the company’s TV listings arm, IPC tx, provide content and design for AOL’s relaunched TV guide. The guide will provide extensive digital and analogue listings and will allow AOL’s members to customise their TV listings information.

IPC tx branding will appear on the site, which will also feature daily sports and film data and a variety of rich media content. Commenting on the deal, a spokeswoman for AOL UK said: “We work with best of breed partners to provide our members in the UK with compelling and useful content. This agreement with IPC means that the TV listings area on AOL has a number of exciting new areas.”

She added: “Research from Forrester shows that AOL members watch more TV than the average internet users and we are responding to member demand.”

AOL UK’s parent company, AOL Time Warner, recently launched its first major cross-platform advertising campaign using its UK internet and magazine properties since its £1.15bn acquisition of IPC Media last year (see AOL Time Warner Launches Major Cross-Platform Ad Campaign).
