LBC Boosts London Offering With New Signing

Chrysalis Radio has announced that Caroline Feraday is to join LBC in the new year as a daytime presenter.

Feraday currently presents The Weekend News on BBC Radio Five Live and has also been carrying out assignments for GMTV.

Mark Flanagan, managing director of LBC, commented: “We are delighted that Caroline has decided to join us for the relaunch of LBC. Caroline’s a real rising star in speech radio. She’s bright, sassy and in touch with today’s London.”

Feraday previously turned down an offer from rival London station Capital to co-host Chris Tarrant’s breakfast show. Her decision represents another blow to Capital after LBC poached Howard Hughes to present its morning news.

Flanagan added: “We are currently in talks with a number of high profile presenters. The appointment of Caroline and Howard is only the start and I think people will be very surprised at some of the big names that follow in the next couple of months.”

Chrysalis acquired London News Radio, which encompasses the LBC and NewsDirect radio brands, earlier this year in a bid to strengthen its audience share in the key London market (see Chrysalis Strengthens London Offering With LNR Acquisition). The station is due to relaunch on the FM wavelength in the new year.
