Times Newspapers To Launch Integrated Marketing Division

Times Newspapers is further developing its commercial operation with the launch of a new integrated marketing division.

TNXL will be headed by former Zed Media client services director, Claire Myerscough, who will work to utilise advertising, editorial, promotions, customer data and other resources to develop bespoke marketing opportunities across The Times and The Sunday Times.

Commenting on the initiative, Paul Hayes, Times Newspapers’ general manager, said: “TNXL is an agenda setting concept that will change the way we do business. The Times and The Sunday Times are two of the country’s leading brands. Claire will use this brand strength to work with client companies and their agencies to create multi-platform partnerships that will increase clients’ return on investment.”

Myerscough added: “Times Newspapers recognises that opportunities specifically tailored to clients’ individual marketing objectives are the key to successful, long-term partnerships. My role at TNXL will be to work alongside all department heads and to bring together the broad spectrum of skills within the organisation to create profitable, workable solutions.”

Earlier this year former ITV daytime controller and BBC head of marketing, Maureen Duffy, was appointed chief executive of the recently formed Newspaper Marketing Agency (see Maureen Duffy Takes Newspaper Marketing Role). The organisation has been established by a coalition of the UK’s national newspapers to increase their sector’s share of advertising revenue (see National Newspapers Unite To Promote Ad Space).
