Telegraph To Promote Discount Dining With Ad Campaign

The Telegraph is launching a radio advertising campaign to support its new Dine Out supplement, which will offer readers discounted meals at selected restaurants across the UK.

The 24-page tabloid supplement will be published next Saturday and will offer readers that collect tokens from the Daily and Sunday Telegraph, specially discounted deals at 500 UK restaurants.

A 30-second radio ad campaign will begin next weekend in London and the South to promote the launch of the supplement, which will also be supported with point of sale promotions in newsagents.

Commenting on the initiative, Mark Dixon, marketing director at Telegraph Group, said: “Dine Out builds on our previous promotions by giving readers the option of dining in the evening as well as lunchtime. Readers of The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph are passionate about eating out so we’re confident that Dine Out will be hugely successful.”

The Daily Telegraph recently launched a campaign to raise awareness of its special Premiership Preview supplement with a week of promotional activity on sports-based speech radio station, talkSPORT (see Telegraph Teams With talkSPORT For Premiership Promotion).

The latest ABC results for the six months to July 2003 show that the Daily Telegraph, which relaunched earlier this year with a series of editorial changes and a new-look front page (see Daily Telegraph Launches Nation-Wide Ad Campaign), has seen circulation decline by 7.9% year on year to 924,334.
