UBC Sees Radio Revenues Increase By 20%

UBC Logo Digital radio broadcaster and programme producer, UBC Media, has announced that revenues for the group have continued to grow in line with expectations, with advertising revenues for its radio division up by 20% year on year for the first six months of 2005.

The strong performance seen in UBC’s radio sector reflects the industry’s transition to digital, with the group enjoying good growth and particularly strong revenue in October, despite a difficult environment elsewhere in the radio market.

The upwards trend carries on from a healthy first six months of 2005, which saw advertising revenues rise by 39% compared to the same period last year.

As predicted, UBC revealed that the purchase of the Smooth Operations regional production business has led to a rise in commission programmes from the BBC, with UBC claiming it is now well placed to benefit from this and is expecting continued growth.

The group’s software division, Unique Interactive, has also benefited from the arrival of more sophisticated digital radios, with increased sales of the company’s products bolstering revenues.

Looking towards the rest of 2005, UBC is optimistic about the performance of the company, predicting positive results for the remainder of the year.
