A Grand Prix winner will also be announced during the ceremony.

Chaired by Richard Marks, director of Research the Media, the nominees were placed in the wise hands of a number of high-profile research experts.

Lynne Robinson, research director, IPA; Catherine Blizzard, director of marketing and audiences, BBC World Service; Laura Chaibi, research consultant; Brian Jacobs, founder, Brian Jacobs & Associates Ltd and David Pidgeon, editor, MediaTel’s Newsline, rigorously judged each of the nominees and chose one winner per category, before deciding on the overall Grand Prix winner.

“I know it is almost compulsory to say that the judges were overwhelmed by the quantity and quality of the entries, but we genuinely were taken aback,” said Marks.

“After all, this is the first time these awards are being held and we really didn’t know what to expect. In the end we had to put our judging meeting back by a couple of weeks in order to do justice to all the entries.

“We have some very strong shortlists here and look forward to unveiling the category winners in February. The judges have also chosen an overall Grand Prix winner for Research Project Of The Year which will be announced on the day.”

Tables are now available for the event – click here for more details – and hear from a selection of the winners at the Future of Media Research Conference on 10 March.
