TV market round-up: January 2015

January saw commercial broadcasters pick up speed again with just one channel reporting a decline in revenue.

Up 18.6% on the previous year, Channel 4 celebrated the greatest increase as it neared to £50 million mark, followed by ITV 1, up 11.3% to take it just short of £122.5 million.

ITV Breakfast also saw a healthy boost, up 8.8% to almost £5 million.

Not such good news for Channel 5, however, which dropped £1.76 million after a -7.2% decline.

Overall, total terrestrial (including ITV Breakfast) was up 10.5%, while total satellite was up a solid 16.2%.
