Consumer ABCs: January-June 2016: News & Current Affairs
The Spectator Group performed well over the January to June period, up 6% PoP and an impressive 32.4% year on year, while The Spectator (excluding Australia) was up 7% PoP and an even bigger 37.9% YoY.
Private Eye and The Week clearly have a loyal readerships – with both titles seeing no change to their circulation over the period but remaining firm favourites in the market. Private Eye currently has a circulation of 230,100, while The Week secures 204,200.
Meanwhile, the Continental Europe and Middle East/Africa editions of The Economist recorded big declines (-17.4% and -12.3%, respectively), while the UK edition remained fairly static with a 0.4% PoP increase.
Monocle recorded a -5% decline in circulation over the period. Similarly, the Financial Times’ Investors Chronicle was down -4%.
Clarification: On Friday at 11am we removed the original reference to the Economist’s new Worldwide Sales Group figures in both the copy and the table as it skews the reality of the publication’s performance by including The Americas Group figures.
