Telegraph hires from Yahoo to fill new digital MD role

Telegraph Media Group has appointed Yahoo’s Dora Michail as its first managing director of digital.

In her new role, Michail will be responsible for the publisher’s relationships with Facebook, Google and Apple, as well as overseeing all adtech partnerships, trading desk relationships and helping to build upon TMG’s programmatic offering.

Michail leaves Yahoo after eight years – where she was most recently senior director of audience and programmatic solutions for EMEA. Prior to that, she was head of data strategy, and head of campaign management and optimisation.

She will report to TMG’s chief operating officer Nick Hugh, who said: “Dora has an exceptional track record in the market and her appointment is incredibly exciting for us.

“She will help us stay ahead of the commercial strategic developments in the world of digital, and will ensure we keep producing the best commercial solutions, products and partnerships whilst also leading the charge building new enhancements and distribution in key areas of our business. We’re delighted to welcome her to the team.”

Michail said: “The Telegraph is a well-respected, trusted and quality brand, with a great team already leading the industry when it comes to commercial digital innovations.

“I’m really looking forward to joining and to build further on the great success that TMG has already achieved.”

Michail starts her new role on 13 February.
