Consumer ABCs: TV Listings

Although there were a host of declines in the TV Listings magazine market, none were severe and the picture looks reasonably steady overall.

Bauer’s TV Choice remains the king of the couch potatoes’ bible with a circulation of more than 1.2 million. The title was down just -1% period-on-period and -3.9% year-on-year.

In second place is Time Inc.’s What’s on TV, holding steady with a circulation just shy of 945,000, while Immediate’s Radio Times – up 2.5% – sells 685,000.

Competing with itself, Time Inc.’s TV Times was also up in the second half of the year by 1.8% to 200,700, while the publisher’s third publication in the market, TV & Satellite Week, was down -5% (and down -10.3% year-on-year) to 120,100.

Bad news for Soaplife: the title was down almost 10% PoP and down -21.1% YoY to just 38,900.

Perhaps worth noting that print works well in the TV Listings market – only Hearst’s Inside Soap magazine has a digital presence.
