Chair of the judges and director of Chartroom, Mark Cross, explained that because the Connies has been expanded for 2017 two sets of judges for the UK and Internationally based categories were required.

“We are very grateful for the brilliant expertise we drew upon from the expanded judging panels, which was fully tested reviewing the exceptional range of entries from across the landscape, both from the UK and from other markets,” he said.

“The entries have kept us busy but excited as we saw some truly exceptional work and I think we can say, evidence of some world class innovation as a result.

“We are also, of course, extremely grateful to all entrants and do hope they will join us on 3 May at The Banking Hall to celebrate the best of what is happening in today’s convergent media environment.”

Previous winners of the Connies include Channel 4, Sky Media, Facebook, Craft and Posterscope.

“I am amazed that the new Youview update is included in your shortlist. Try putting "youview update rubbish" into google and see what you get. It should qualify for a Razzie. Have you got a section for worst update of the year? This one is right up there with Windows Vista”
