Paul Frampton to leave Havas Media Group UK

Havas Media Group has announced that Paul Frampton will be stepping down as its UK and Ireland CEO.

Havas said it forms part of a global integration strategy that will move the creative and media teams within all of the 48 Havas Villages around the world together under one P&L.

“After 20 years of success and growth within Havas Group this feels like the right moment for me to try something different and pursue a new direction,” Frampton said.

“I leave in the knowledge that my long-standing colleagues and friends will be led by such an inspiring team. As a passionate supporter of re-imagination, my immediate focus will be on innovation within the digital economy and spending some quality time with my eight month old son, Jack and my three fast growing teenagers.”

Frampton joined MPG Media Contacts, which later became Havas Media, in 1997 as a media planner buyer. He became CEO of Havas Media UK in 2013, before taking on his current role in 2016.

As CEO of Havas Media Group UK, Frampton has been at the helm of five media agencies encompassing 880 people and delivering revenue of £90 million.

Dominique Delport, global managing director, Havas Group, said: “Saying good bye after so many years is always filled with some sadness, but also with pride for what Paul has achieved.

“The results of which have been especially apparent in recent years with our strong UK development in London and Manchester, the acquisition of Target Media and our groundbreaking Havas Village at London’s Kings Cross. We all wish Paul the very best and thank him for his significant contribution to the growth and success of Havas in the UK and Ireland over the last decade.”

Chris Hirst, Havas Chairman Havas UK and CEO Europe will continue to lead both creative and media teams, the latter of which will be led by Matt Adams, CEO of Havas Media UK and Ireland.

It has been a bumpy month for media agencies; Frampton’s departure comes in the same week Tracy De Groose leaves Dentsu Aegis UK, while Starcom UK announced last week that Pippa Glucklich is also stepping down as CEO.
