Wavemaker: new roles for Dormieux, Hutchison and Hickey

Jason Dormieux has today been named Wavemaker’s first global chief transformation officer and chairman of Wavemaker UK.

The appointment means the current chief operating officer, Paul Hutchison, has been named Wavemaker UK’s CEO to fill Dormieux’s shoes.

Meanwhile, Anna Hickey will take up the COO role after a stint as MD.

“Jason’s knowledge and expertise in creating and commercialising future-ready products will be invaluable as we continue to build our new company,” said Tim Castree, Wavemaker global CEO.

“Our transformation into the future will continue to hinge on our ability to create products that help our clients’ business grow and Jason is the perfect leader to enable our ambition.”

Founded by parent company GroupM in July 2017, Wavemaker is the outcome of a merger between MEC and Maxus.

Tom George, GroupM UK’s CEO said of this week’s appointments: “Jason has done a fantastic job in leading and building MEC in the UK and overseeing the launch of Wavemaker as one of the largest media agency brands in the market. His promotion means that the Wavemaker network will now benefit from his talent and experience internationally.

“Succession planning is one of our great strengths and in Paul and Anna we have two great leaders who are brilliantly equipped to drive the growth of Wavemaker UK over the coming years. All three promotions are richly deserved.”
