Gyro Manchester hires new head of content

Gyro Manchester has hired Kate Pickering to the new role of head of content, where she will lead the company’s content team and oversee everything from content strategy through to content development and evaluation for clients.

Pickering joins from Dentsu Aegis Network’s sister agency, John Brown Media in Manchester, where she served as director of content planning for three years.

Prior to that, she worked at the BBC as senior development producer across digital platforms for CBBC, leading the development of content for games, apps, TV, AR and wearables for the children’s TV division.

“Gyro’s expertise lies in understanding often extremely complex B2B customer journeys and being able to leverage content that is relevant and compelling to particular audiences at the most pertinent moment,” said Steve McCarron, managing director of Gyro Manchester.

“Adding Kate’s expertise to the team means we are in great shape to service our existing clients and to grow this strategic and creative capability further.”

Pickering added: “It’s such a great time to be working in the B2B space. Business audiences are evolving – we’re seeing them expect the same levels of customer care and service as consumers do from the big disruptors.

“Content is a hugely powerful opportunity to win them over and build relationships and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
