JCDecaux UK’s CEOs to step down

Out-of-home business JCDecaux UK has announced that its co-CEOs are stepping down to be replaced internally.

Spencer Berwin and Philip Thomas (pictured above) will leave their roles at the end of March and will move to new positions as non-executive directors, reporting directly to Jean-François Decaux, the co-CEO of the global business.

Filling their shoes will be Chris Collins, the managing director of JCDecaux UK’s rail and retail Divisions, and Dallas Wiles, the chief commercial officer (pictured below).

“I have worked with Spencer and Philip for many years and they have been instrumental in developing and delivering our market-leading digital transformation,” said Jean-François Decaux.

“They have secured a fantastic platform for the future including the contract wins of Network Rail, Heathrow Airport, TfL bus shelters and more recently Westfield shopping malls. They will continue to work with the business to develop channels and partnerships as new opportunities open up in the digital and technology space.

“True to our tradition of promoting internal candidates, I am delighted to appoint Chris and Dallas to the roles of Co-CEOs, promoting senior talent from within our company as we look to a new digital trading future and the build-out of our contract wins. These appointments underline the importance of both sides of our business – concession contracts and advertising sales.”

JCDecaux is the largest out-of-home business in the world and in the UK provides 46% of the 1.8 billion weekly impressions delivered by digital out-of-home. Its contracts include London bus shelters, Heathrow airport and Westfield London.
