Manning departs MediaLink to launch mentoring business

Nick Manning, co-founder of Manning Gottlieb OMD and most recently SVP at MediaLink, is set to launch a new business mentoring companies, individuals, trade associations and charities.

Encyclomedia will provide advisory services to help senior managers respond to the changing media market, with corporate direction and growth strategies.

“This is a time of great opportunity in our industry but also one where navigation through massive change is needed,” Manning told Mediatel.

“Encyclomedia will provide the industry experience and external perspective needed to ensure that senior managers make well-informed decisions”.

Manning’s new venture comes after a stint working for Ascential’s strategic advisory firm MediaLink, where he was senior vice president.

He has also held senior roles at Ebiquity – where he was chief strategy officer for over a decade – and was previously CEO of OMD in the UK.

In a long and illustrious career, Manning also co-founded OPera, the media negotiation arm for OMD and PHD, with billings of £1 billion.

In 1990, Manning co-founded Manning Gottlieb Media (MGM), which was ultimately acquired by Omnicom in 1997, making him one of the most recognisable names working in the UK’s media and advertising sector.

Encyclomedia will officially open for business later in the summer.
