Leo Burnett’s Sarah Baumann joins VaynerMedia

VaynerMedia has hired Sarah Baumann as managing director of its London office, overseeing client relations and business operations.

Baumann previously spent 16 years at creative agency Leo Burnett London, holding roles including managing director of Atelier, its luxury and lifestyle boutique division, group talent strategy director, and deputy CEO. She also co-founded VivaWomen, Publicis Groupe’s women’s network.

Most recently, Baumann was director of marketing at People’s Vote UK, the campaign for a second Brexit referendum, where she led the in-house marketing and social media team.

“VaynerMedia is an agency that truly understands where consumer attention is and how to leverage that to build clients’ businesses,” she said.

“That, plus the incredible belief in culture and talent, is what drew me to the agency. I cannot wait to work with the team and to continue growing the business.”

In her new role, Baumann will work alongside the heads of strategy, creative and media, and report to CEO of VaynerMedia and chairman of VaynerX, Gary Vaynerchuk.

Commenting on the appointment, Vaynerchuk said: “After opening three years ago, our London office has established itself in the UK marketplace as an agency that drives business results for our clients through attention, culture and empathy.”

“We are now looking to expand that offering. With Sarah’s rich background in the advertising industry and her passion for developing talent, she is the right person to take the agency to the next level. I am thrilled she’s joining the VaynerMedia team.”

Baumann takes up her new position on June 17.
