Media Leaders Lunch – the pictures

Media Leaders Lunch – the pictures

On Wednesday we hosted our inaugural Media Leaders Lunch – 180 senior professionals from all wings of the sector gathered at the Science Museum’s new Illuminate centre to network, feast and listen to some lively (Chatham House Rule) debates.

Thank you to everyone who came to support this new event, in particular this year’s sponsors, Newsworks and Rezonence.

We had a formidable line-up, including Daily Mirror editor Alison Phillips, The Times’ deputy editor Emma Tucker, and the Telegraph’s associate editor Camilla Tominey – each of them funny, candid, reader-focused and commercially minded in their wide-ranging discussions on media ethics, business models and politics.

In conversation with Mediatel News editor David Pidgeon, we also heard from one of our leading columnists, Jan Gooding, who gave the audience a CMO’s view on topics of trust, Brexit, and short-termism; while Tracy De Groose, Newsworks’ boss and ex CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network and Carat, weighed in on climate action and media effectiveness amongst plenty else.

We created this event as an extension of our long-running editorial offering – the Media Leaders bulletin, fronted each week by Raymond Snoddy, with guest op-eds from the brightest people we can find working in media and advertising. We’re pleased that after all these years it remains the heart of industry debate and can still attract such a high quality audience.

Thanks to all our readers for supporting that offering, and to those who came to see it performed live on stage.
