Anna Hickey, formerly chief operating officer at Wavemaker UK, has been promoted to the agency’s global leadership team as president of global clients.
Hickey joined Wavemaker UK as MD upon its launch in January last year, and was promoted to COO in April 2018.
Since then, she has been responsible for client growth, new business and marketing, media and trading and overseeing commercial and financial operations.
In her new role, she will be tasked with ensuring worldwide best practice, driving client growth and building key client relationships.
“Client leadership has over the years become too akin to project management when it should be focused on nurturing and developing truly valuable partnerships with our clients that lead to enhanced growth for their business,” Hickey said.
“I’m looking forward to joining Toby [Jenner] and the Global Management Team at such an exciting time for Wavemaker and bringing a laser-sharp focus to our client leadership approach.”
Hickey takes up her new role in February 2020 and will be continue to be based in the UK.
Commenting on the appointment, Wavemaker’s global CEO Toby Jenner said Hickey presented him with a “compelling vision” for client leadership.
