Event: 56 Black Men anniversary party

Event: 56 Black Men anniversary party

Mediatel News is proud to support 56 Black Men and is inviting readers to attend its one-year anniversary event on Tuesday, December 17.

What started as a campaign at the end of December 2018 to challenge negative stereotypes, has quickly become a movement over this past year.

Founder Cephas Williams and his team will be celebrating the success of the last 12 months as well as putting a stake in the ground to let the world know – 56 Black Men isn’t going anywhere.

The hugely popular and powerful campaign shows striking headshots of black men in hoodies – including politicians, directors, teachers – all of them with positive life stories that are irrelevant to the attire they choose to wear.

But the media very rarely tells those positive stories, Williams says, so the campaign “serves as a reminder that for every black man you see represented doing something negative, there are 56 of us that aren’t”.

From a creative program taking us through the achievements of the movement so far, some of the first 56 taking us through their experiences, performances, an outlook on what’s ahead for 56 Black Men, an after party (with a top DJ) and more, this is going to be a night not to be missed.

56 Black Men are here to ‘Change The Narrative For Life’ and they hope you can join them. Mediatel will be there and we can’t wait to see you there and to find out what they have planned for 2020.
