Ocean Outdoor restructures sales with trio of promotions

Out-of-home company Ocean Outdoor is restructuring its UK-based sales team as it relocates into a new London HQ.

Nick Shaw has been promoted to chief revenue officer with responsibility across all Ocean Outdoor revenue streams and customer relationships. Shaw previously shared the position with James Harrison, who is leaving the company to relocate to Dubai.

Meanwhile, director of trading Andrew Gibson is to become head of trading and investment, responsible for all aspects of traditional and automated trading and assuming a senior role working with specialist partners, while agency sales director Danielle Finch is promoted to head of agency sales and landlord relations.

The promotion will see Finch continue her responsibilities across Ocean’s UK commercial landlord portfolio and lead on the management of media agency relationships.

“We are sad to see James go but thank him for his fantastic service and wish him all the best,” said Phil Hall, UK joint managing director.

“This is an opportunity for progression within the sales team under Nick’s leadership, to build on our strong relationships with the specialists and media agencies.”

The new structure will become operational from the start of April, following the business’ relocation to new Soho premises in Argyll Street. The move is to allow Ocean to “prepare for future growth” after a “transformational” past 12 months, Hall added.

The company also operates from offices in Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow.

In the past year, Ocean Outdoor’s UK business has won new city contracts for Glasgow and Southampton, rolled out 128 roadside digital screens across Birmingham, and boosted its London portfolio with the recent addition of the shopping centres at Canary Wharf.

Meanwhile, the global business has been on an European acquisition spree, acquiring Stockholm-based Visual Art Media in September 2019 and Sweden-based AdCityMedia in November.
