The Fifth hires LADbible’s Sam Coleman

News UK’s influencer marketing agency The Fifth has appointed Sam Coleman as commercial director, leading day-to-day commercial strategy and sales operations.

Coleman will also be responsible for client services in his new role, and will manage new business and revenue generations from brands and advertisers.

He joins from social media entertainment group LADbible, where he was head of group sales. With close to two decades’ media industry experience in total, Coleman has also held positions at The Guardian, ESPN and Disney.

“I am incredibly excited to be joining The Fifth at such an important time for the company,” Coleman said.

“Influencer marketing is still relatively nascent and The Fifth is in a great position to professionalise it, ultimately to build trust with clients through bold and effective work.”

Coleman will report into The Fifth’s managing director and founder, Oliver Lewis, who added: “As a business, we’re growing rapidly, and Sam’s expertise and experience will allow us to continue to accelerate our services to brands and clients.

“The experience he brings is second to none and I look forward to working together at this exciting stage of the journey.”

News UK – publisher of The Times and The Sun – launched the influencer marketing agency in March 2019. At the time, Lewis told Mediatel News that the publisher was keen to future-proof its business by investing in a rapidly evolving media sector.

The Fifth’s clients currently include Tag Heuer, Marc Jacobs, Lucozade and TikTok.
