Mediatel News and Mediatel Events will recognise and celebrate the very best in media leadership with today’s launch of the Media Leaders Awards 2021.
This free-to-enter awards programme will feature seven categories overall, with a Media Leader of the Year title awarded in four distinct categories: Media Agency, Media Owner, Advertiser and Tech.
Nominees must be at managing director (or marketing director for the advertiser category) level or above.
Two Grand Prix prizes will then be awarded for Media CEO of the Year and International Media Leader of the Year.
To celebrate the next generation of up and coming media leaders, a third Grand Prix prize will also be awarded to the Future Media Leader of the Year – a rising star from any part of the media industry.
Michaela Jefferson, news editor at Mediatel News, said: “This year more than any other has called for strong leadership to navigate businesses through the Covid-19 pandemic, take action on key issues such as diversity and inclusivity, and to ensure the industry continues to deliver best-in-class work for its clients and partners. These awards will acknowledge outstanding achievements during a particularly difficult period.”
Nominations for a Media Leaders award will be judged by a panel of expert judges. Entries open tomorrow (October 15), with a final deadline of Friday 6 November.
“We at Mediatel have always avoided running a multitude of award shows, but this year we think giving awards to those media leaders who deserve recognition is a worthwhile and timely endeavour. The Media Leaders Awards will be easy (and free) to enter and very hard to win,” said Greg Grimmer, CEO of Mediatel Group.
“Personally, I’ve been really impressed by the overall media industry response to an incredibly tough business climate and I’m sure we will be able to celebrate the crème de la crème of its leadership in these new awards. Just don’t expect the Grosvenor House Ballroom or to be shortlisted just because you entered.”
