Tim Pearson exits Sky Media after six months

Tim Pearson is departing as managing director of Sky Media UK, Mediatel News can reveal, after having only joined the company six months ago.

The former CEO of OMD Group UK had only joined Sky’s advertising sales arm in March, taking on the mantle of 25-year veteran John Litster who became MD for Sky Media Europe.

Pearson had been appointed to lead Sky Media’s UK operations, as well as Sky’s European agency relationships, reporting to Sky UK & Europe chief business officer, Patrick Béhar.

Mediatel News understands Pearson has now decided to quit Sky Media.

A spokesman for Sky Media confirmed that Pearson will be leaving the business at the end of this week, but declined to comment further.

Coming from a media agency background, the former MG OMD CEO front Sky Media’s first advertising upfront in April, as part of an apparent change in approach to be more publicly assertive in addressing brands and media agencies.

When his appointment was announced in January, Pearson said: “To take on the role of MD at Sky Media is a huge honour. With the organisation in a position of real strength, the potential to bring new, exciting and effective ways of connecting and converting audiences is immense.”
