Nicola Mendelsohn confirmed as Facebook’s global head of ad sales

Nicola Mendelsohn has been named as the permanent successor to Carolyn Everson and will lead Facebook’s global ad sales, the company has confirmed.

Mendelsohn, who has been vice-president of Europe, Middle East and Africa since 2013, was appointed as vice-president of the Global Business Group.

She had been filling the role in an interim capacity since June, when Everson announced she was leaving Facebook.

Mendelsohn said:”I believe deeply that our platforms are a force for good, and I see our mission play out in innumerable ways every day.

“From where I sit, that looks like people coming together to donate to non-profits, finding common ground across shared interests, and staying connected to the people and businesses that matter most to them.

“And one of the things I’ve always enjoyed most is sitting with businesses of all sizes and helping them figure out how to use our tools to help them grow — and how to do it in a way that serves not only their business goals, but equally the lives and livelihoods of the people behind them. There’s no one who takes this work more seriously than we do, and I’m proud day in and day out of what we’ve accomplished.”

Prior to joining Facebook, Mendelsohn worked in advertising for over 20 years working at BBH, Grey and Karmarama.

She was the first female president of the IPA and has been president of WACL.

In 2019 she founded and launched the Follicular Lymphoma Foundation, a charity focused solely on raising funds to help the thousands of people living with Follicular Lymphoma to live well and get well. She was diagnosed with the disease in 2016.
