Jakob Nielsen quietly departs Finecast amid investigation

Jakob Nielsen has left as CEO of Finecast, he announced on social media.

Nielsen had been suspended last month by the company’s parent, WPP’s GroupM, as well as finance and business development director Stefano Biggi and a personal assistant.

The allegations, prompted by a WPP whistleblower, are believed to be financial in nature but not affecting client accounts.

Nielsen made no mention of the investigation in a 212-word statement posted on LinkedIn yesterday.

He said: After 12 memorable years at GroupM/WPP the time has come for me to bid farewell. “My true passion is in building businesses and companies, and I am so grateful that I was able to do this at WPP. Now, it’s time for me to seek out my next challenge in the ever-changing media landscape. First and foremost, I will take some time off with my family.”

Nielsen’s departure was not announced by GroupM and the company did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Mediatel News, including whether the investigation had been concluded.
