Marc Bignell joins the7stars as commercial director

The7stars has appointed Marc Bignell as commercial director as the UK’s largest indie agency looks to put more “innovative” trading solutions into place.

Bignell, an Omnicom veteran of 20 years who most recently was global head of trading at WPP’s GroupM, joins in the newly-created role reporting to managing partner Liam Mullins.

Working alongside the7stars’ head of trading David Counsell, Bignell will be responsible for implementing innovative trading solutions that drive performance for advertisers.

Mullins said: “We are extremely proud and excited to have Marc join the7stars. He adds heaps of experience and unrivalled commercial prowess to our team.

“Marc will help to ensure that we continue to deliver our unique offering of transparency and neutrality, alongside market-leading pricing.”

Before joining GroupM, Bignell was chief commercial officer at Miroma, a private company with a portfolio of media and technology companies, having also worked for Yahoo as vice-president for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Bignell has previously spent more than 20 years with Omnicom Media Group, latterly as worldwide chief investment officer.

Bignell added: “Both as a competitor and as a media owner, I have admired the work of the7stars and their commitment to full transparency for clients whilst delivering best in market media solutions. The7stars was founded in 2005 and now manages over £350m of media billings for clients including TSB, Suzuki, Entain, First Rail Holdings, Nintendo and Iceland.
