Ofcom names Dawn Airey as Channel 4 interim chair

Dawn Airey has been appointed interim chair of Channel 4 to replace Charles Gurassa who leaves at the end of this month.

Airey became a non-executive director of Channel 4 in December 2021 and has previously had roles as managing director of global content at ITV, chair and CEO at Channel 5, and SVP of EMEA at Yahoo.

She is also currently chair of the National Youth Theatre and Barclays FA Women’s Super League and FA Women’s championship.

The appointment has been approved by culture secretary Nadine Dorries and Airey will remain in the role until a permanent chair is chosen.
