Cadi Jones joins ‘ResTech’ business Qmee as commercial chief

Research tech business Qmee has hired Cadi Jones, the highly experienced digital media executive, as chief commercial officer as it looks to expand “zero party data” services for publishers.

Jones had spent more than three years at ad tech software company Beeswax, which was acquired last year by Comcast’s online video ad business Freewheel.

At Qmee, she is tasked with growing their user base of consumers and establishing new publisher partnerships, as well as servicing the company’s existing and new market research partnerships.

“Market research has always provided powerful insights to brands,” Jones said.  “Qmee is one of the most forward-thinking businesses in the space.  As third-party cookies and other identifiers are removed from the online ecosystem, Qmee has an exciting role to play in offering user insights to publisher partners too.”

She added: “Over recent years at Beeswax, I have seen the growth in the market research space as both brands and publishers prepare for the cookiepocalypse.  I’ve witnessed the impact that zero-party data can deliver far beyond the context of just advertising.”

Zero-party data is data which a customer intentionally and proactively shares with a brand.

Prior to Beeswax, Jones was hired to drive innovation and specifically the adoption of programmatic technology at Clear Channel International, following eight years at Yahoo! located in London, Dubai and New York.

She will join Mike Baker, chairman of the Board of Qmee, who is co-founder and the former CEO of Dataxu.

Baker said: “The hire of Cadi Jones marks a significant moment for Qmee and its investment in providing global brands, publishers and market research agencies with the information that they need to be successful.”

Qmee is a free app that allows people to share their opinions through tailored surveys by offering cash rewards when shopping and searching online. For brands, it claims to offer a tech solution that gets better, faster and more accurate answers when carrying out market research.

The company was founded in 2012 by Jonathan Knight and Nick Sutton, is co-headquarted in London and New York, and operates in the UK, the US, Canada, Australia and France.

Qmee took onboard a significant investment round last year from Capital D, a European private equity fund manager that also invests in marketing and communications companies Phrasee and Invincible Brands.
