British Triumph In New York

At the International Emmy Awards in New York, six awards went to Britain.

Absolutely Fabulous and Drop The Dead Donkey tied for the award in the popular arts section. A Disappearing World film, called We Are All Neighbours tied with a Japanese programme in the documentary category.

The Channel 4 series Concerto! won the performing arts award, and the BBC play Unnatural Pursuits won the award for drama.

Richard Dunn, chief executive of Thames Television, was awarded a special Emmy.
