New PHD has appointed David Pattison, one of its managing partners, as the company's first chief executive. The appointment is effective immediately.

...Deputy editor of the Mirror, Brendon Parsons, is to become the new editor of the People. He replaces Len Gould who has left to work on the Sporting Life (see Mirror Group Takes On Racing Post)

...Capital Radio's new sales house, Capital Advertising, has appointed Nikki Mendonca as its new head of strategic planning and development. She will report to Capital Advertising's sales director Fru Hazlitt when she moves from Leo Burnett in mid-February next year. Mendonca will be responsible for strategic planning, research, sales support, management information and trade marketing services.
