Granada Media And Boots Prepare For Wellbeing Network Launch

The Wellbeing Network, a joint venture TV channel produced by Granada Media and highstreet pharmacy Boots (see Granada Media Teams With Boots To Create Internet and Broadband Company), is to launch on Wednesday 14 March on the Sky Digital and ONdigital platforms.

The venture, which has received an £18m investment from the two companies will initially consist of the channel, broadcasting between 9am and 9pm daily, and a website, Eventually roll-out across digital platforms, including mobile phones, digital cable and personal digital assistants (PDAs) is planned, along with links to doctors surgeries to allow local appointment booking and advice.

Content on the TV channel will centre around health and beauty, with shows featuring experts sanctioned by Boots. In addition Boots goods and services will be offered to consumers through both the channel, which will be interactive, and the website.
