Metro traffic drops by -15% in October

Metro lost 351,000 average daily browsers in October after a -14.8% dip in traffic, according to the latest online ABCs. However, the majority of the most popular online news platforms performed well.

A 7% boost took the Independent's total traffic to almost 6.3 million, while the Sun was up 6.2% to more than 5.5 million, Mirror Group Nationals up 7.1% to 5.3 million and the London Evening Standard up 7.7% to 796,900.

Meanwhile, a 3.8% increase pushed MailOnline closer to the 15 million mark, with the website currently bringing in more than 14.7 million browsers a day.

Trinity Mirror's digital portfolio was also up by 4.6% to a little less than 9.6 million, while its regional network was up 2.3% to almost 4.7 million.

Note: The Guardian, ordinarily a high performing platform, is changing the way it reports online data and is not currently included in the ABC results.
